Womens Aglow International Conferance

Aglow began in 1967 with four women in America who expressed a desire to meet together as Christians without denominational boundaries. The meeting drew more than 100 women and it didn’t take long for women who attended that first meeting to invite their neighbours and friends to other gatherings. As the word spread, new groups began springing up around Washington State and within months, groups formed in other states. By 1972, more than 60 local groups held monthly meetings around the United States. By 1973, Aglow was moving onto the global stage as fellowships began in Canada and New Zealand. The Netherlands followed in 1974, marking Aglow as an international \"network of caring women,\" in just six short years. Today, Aglow spans the globe! And it continues to reach out to women of every creed, colour, and culture, and, through women, to families worldwide. Over 4,600 Aglow groups meet worldwide, about 68% of them are outside the U.S. More than 21,000 Aglow leaders worldwide minister in their communities and nations, to an estimated 17 million people each year. Royal Observer Corps Association (ROCA) conferance

This Year, we mark the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One, and the 70th anniversary since the D-Day Landings, but did you know that we are also celebrating an important milestone of our own? Our 2014 Annual Reunion, in Southport, will be the 25th time we have gathered together since they began at Pontins in Blackpool in 1989. It hardly seems possible now, but back then we were looking to accommodate 400 plus each year. Sadly, quite naturally of course, numbers have come down over the years, but we still enjoy the same spirit of comradeship that we had all those years ago. Many members have already booked, but this appeal is to those of you who have yet to do so. Help us to have another successful weekend this special year, there's still time to book. – Book at The Warwick Southport 01704-530707here - DO IT NOW!!
